About Emma

Emma is a campaigns and public policy professional with nearly two decades of experience who is also a talented and highly sought-after writer and commentator. She is widely published and has a proven history of developing and implementing communication strategies, campaigns, profile raising, stakeholder relationships and speech writing.

She has an excellent understanding of the ways of Westminster, Whitehall and local government. Over the years Emma has worked for the Fabian Society, The National Housing Federation, The TUC, New Local Government Network and IPPR in a variety of communications roles.

Emma has also developed a broad portfolio of journalism having written for the Guardian, the New Statesman, The Independent, Prospect and The Times among others. She has appeared on BBC News, Channel 4 News, Sky News and a huge variety of radio programmes. Emma was a columnist and contributing editor of LabourList from 2009 to 2016. 

Emma has dabbled in stand up comedy and acting work and writes theatre criticism for View from the Cheap Seats as well as being a karaoke diva.
